Property Tax Rates Approved for 2022
Property owners in the Township will see a slight decrease in their property tax rate next year.
The 4.1807 millage rate for 2022 was approved at the Board of Trustees’ Sept. 13 meeting, a slight reduction from the 2021 rate of 4.1856 mills.
The Board maintained the current 3.70 millage rate to fund the general fund budget for services such as public safety, road improvements, parks and other essential services. Trustees also approved the levy of 0.4807 mills to fund improvements to trails and recreational areas in the Township as approved by voters in 2016. The original trails millage was for 0.50 mills; however, the Headlee Amendment to the Michigan Constitution requires this amount be rolled back to no more than 0.4807 mills for 2022 and beyond.
