Your Spring Guide to Township Parks and Trails
If you’re looking to get outside this spring, consider exploring the Township’s many parks and trails.
Here’s a quick guide to some of the popular parks and trails to help you plan your spring outdoor activities.
Versluis Park
This park features playground areas, picnic facilities, a beach and volleyball courts, a fishing pier, a 1-mile paved walking trail and canoe, kayak and small rowboat access (carry-in only).
Premier Park
The Township’s largest park offers mountain biking, hiking and trail running on Merrell Trail and access to soccer fields. Additionally, a BMX track and an archery center are operated on the park’s grounds.
D.W. Richardson Park
This park has three baseball diamonds, playground equipment, shuffleboard and basketball courts and a pavilion available for rent. Call the Township at 616.363.9399 to make a reservation.
Grand Rogue Park
Located on 66 acres along the Grand and Rogue rivers, this park features ponds, hiking trails and picnic areas, with additional amenities planned over the next five years.
Charles Weldon Veterans Memorial Park
This park was created in 2001 to honor Plainfield Township veterans. It’s typically where the Township's annual Memorial Day commemoration is held.
Grand Isle Park
Located just off West River Drive, this 62-acre park offers nearly 3,000 feet of frontage along the Grand River. The park has an 18-hole disc golf course and often features a variety of wildlife in the wetland areas.
