Planning Commission to Hold Virtual Public Hearing on Updated Zoning Ordinance
The Plainfield Township Planning Commission will hold a virtual public hearing at its regular meeting Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. to consider updates to the zoning ordinance and map.
The proposed changes are intended to make the zoning ordinance more user-friendly by clarifying definitions to reduce confusion, adding visuals aids to help residents better understand regulations and providing links to related content for easier navigation. The zoning ordinance is used to regulate land use and development in the Township to protect property values.
After the public hearing, the Planning Commission will decide if additional changes to the ordinance need to be proposed or forward a recommendation to the Township Board to approve the updated document at a future meeting. These proposed updates do not reflect any potential changes that may be recommended by the Reimagine Plainfield committee’s development plan expected to be completed this spring.
A summary of the changes, map and more information about the Planning Commission is available on plainfieldmi.org.
The meeting agenda and link will be posted on the Township’s website.
